Title: My Pet Project
Post by: cuzzfd3s on July 22, 2013, 05:25:19 PM
So I\'ve had the car quite a long time but only started building it up the way I wanted over the last year or so. Have a build thread on a different website but wanted to get it on here, just for some opinions and ideas.

Feel free to leave comments. Positive ones will put a big smile on my face :D But opinions/ideas to make it better would be more than welcome, they get me :Talking1 and a bit :3Confused Negative comments, well then i\'m just going to have to:Grrr and :spank you on the way out!!! Lol.

so this is how it looked before. Was going through my Fast & Furious phase.

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/Beforethemakeover.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/Beforethemakeover.jpg.html)

But then decided to first sort her mechanically, so had an engine rebuild from WGT and got a bit carried away and ended up with the following:

*Engine rebuilt by Pip, street ported using heavy duty seals with additional dowels
*Exedy hyper twin clutch/flywheel
*Apexi power fc @ commander
*1600 secondary injectors & fuel rail
*Greddy twin oil cooler kit
*T04z turbo
*Dragon v-mount intercooler
*Tial wastegate
*WGT 3" exhaust system
*KAD 8-pot brake kit
*Tein monoflex coilovers
*Dragon diff & gearbox brace
*Racing Beat antiroll bars

Once i had her running reliably, then started to look for bits a bobs to make her look as good as she drove:

and then in a bid to make her look like a prom queen i booked her to the body shop for a nip, tuck and suck, and maybe a hairy-butt wax!

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/testfitwheels4.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/testfitwheels4.jpg.html)

and then the day came to finally go and pick her up in her new dress, and DAMN she looked fine (if i do say so myself, lol):

Well this story from start to here is about a years work. And then just as we were about to settle down, i had a few more ideas and did this:

First thing I did was get round to fitting the RE-Style Pro Carbon Rear Diffuser, Bought this from Stu and had it lying around in the garage for a year now but its my favorite diffuser, so well chuffed with the way it looks

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/53Re-StyleRearRaceDiffuser_zpscaaf77cd.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/53Re-StyleRearRaceDiffuser_zpscaaf77cd.jpg.html)

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/54Re-StyleRearDiffuser_zpsc7d167c1.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/54Re-StyleRearDiffuser_zpsc7d167c1.jpg.html)

Secondly...... got a carbon dome cover made for the fuel lines running in the rear boot, just to tidy it up a little.

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/55CarbonCover_zpsc426d7b3.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/55CarbonCover_zpsc426d7b3.jpg.html)

Thirdly..... had a RW Throttle Body Fitted, for that little bit more umphhhhh

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/56RWThrottleBody_zps0ad3733f.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/56RWThrottleBody_zps0ad3733f.jpg.html)

And then a bit more..... Got a single-din sized piece of carbon and moved the Greddy Turbo Timer, Racetech Dual Gauge and Blitz Boost Controller into their new home there  This is kinda my favourite thing in this update as i don\'t have gauges and timers all over the place in the cab now, a bit more of a clean look to it

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/57BoostControllerGaugeampTurboTimer_zpsd4895dd1.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/57BoostControllerGaugeampTurboTimer_zpsd4895dd1.jpg.html)

So that\'s it...... or is it..... nahhhhhhhhh..... one final thing got an Motec M2R ecu with a custom wiring loom and had the apexi removed. Then a final rolling road session and..... boooooom..... bob\'s your uncle!!!:

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/58FinalMap_zpse5ad2d30.png) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/58FinalMap_zpse5ad2d30.png.html)

476HP @ 1.0 bar..... I\'m quite happy with that.....

Still got more things on order for it, but i think mechanically its done now. No more spending time in the garage! Going to enjoy the next few weeks while the suns out and then get on with the remainder of my plan

So that\'s it for now, thank you for taking the time to read this, and any feedback/comments/general rambling would be greatly appreciated. But before i go, i\'d just like to say...

I LOVE MY CAR!!!

PS: sorry for the crap pictures! all done off my phone lol

You have made some welcome changes to the body there! Well done!

As for 53 reg it\'s not often they :censored::censored::censored::censored: up but they have done on one or two of my cars in the past.  It\'s totally legit and it can\'t be changed so just enjoy the unique fact, then add additional on the sale price! :D

Good job on the car, keep it up pal!

Thank Kevin. Yeah I heard it triples the value of the car ;)

you wouldn\'t know, but if i decide to put on a 53-private plate, can i keep it on 53 or will they return it back to what it should be?

Under normal conditions you would end up with the original plate back on the car, but in this instance I would be more inclined to bet money that they would pick up on this error and return the car to a \'K\'? plate.

If you intend to keep the car for a long time I\'d put a private plate on, if not I\'d keep it as is for it\'s quirky factor.

Ahem ahem... not quirky! Exclusivity factor lol

Managed to struggle out of bed today for about 2.00 and actually get a few bits done.

Wanted to get the fiddly job out the way first, so got my tool kit out and fitted a DM Motorsport Shift Collar. This has got to be one of the best things I\'ve done to the car. The \'play\' in the gear-stick is almost non-existent, and the gears are just banging into the place perfectly. If i\'d known this dinky little round thing would make such a big difference i\'d have fitted it a year ago when i bought it!!! Top product

After that went and fitted my 99-spec carbon lip spoiler from Ed, so another big thank you matey, top quality product.

(http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj619/qadirhussain/20130727_184812_zpsd23b376f.jpg) (http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/qadirhussain/media/20130727_184812_zpsd23b376f.jpg.html)

Then went and got my XXR\'s fitted with some advan neova ad08\'s. The wheels are 18 x 9.75 ET20 all round. So the rears are fitted with 235/40/18 and fronts are 225/40/18. I like them :D really fill out the arches well. But the tyres are just soooooooooooooooo darn sexy! :o

Anyways, here how she stands at the moment. Needs a good clean though!

Going to see what the weathers like in the morning, hoping to go to TOTB, so might have some updates next weekend, if i can wake up earlier :D

Thanks Kevin, She\'s just developed a small boosting issue on Sunday which i need to sort out but she\'s coming along nicely :Thumbs-up

The Advans are brilliant in the dry, I\'m not the best driver but after they warmed a little even I could tell the difference in the extra grip on normal battered Yorkshire roads, so they must be fantastic on the track. In the rain though they do make you very nervous, lets say, but on Sunday it did belt it down for 20ish mins while I was out and I could barely see out the windscreen, so I wouldn\'t normally take it out in those kinda conditions.

Black FDs are cooler than a Polar Bear\'s spudbag.  This one is particularly so.

Those Advan tyres are cool too, I had a quick play with some on an RX8 and they\'re nice when they\'re warmed up, little bit skittish in the wet even with 200 hp so with over twice that I\'d imagine they focus the mind a little when the boost starts a-comin\'!

Hi mick, all round they are skinnier than I would prefer.  The fronts wouldnt take more than the 225 otherwise they were scraping. So based on that I went 235 in rears. Could have defo done 245 on rears, but I don\'t think it would look right with \'fuller\' tyres in rear and skinnier on front. Just my own preference :D

No probs m8,  it\'s just if u had wider tyres ur handling would b much better as I run 225/40/18 on the front & 265/35/18 on the rear (that\'s why f1 cars run massive tyres on rear & much skinnier tyres on front) & it handle like it was on rails & stable @ over190mph chasing tr racings 750 bhp r34 skyline who hit 200 mph on his gps.

LOL... I understand dude... that\'s why I decided to keep the rota\'s as a spare set, will put some wider track tyres on them, when current set are useless, and use thm for track days ;)
Title: PORSCHE Munching
Post by: cuzzfd3s on August 16, 2013, 07:45:17 PM
Sorry this isn\'t exactly an update but had to put this up :D

So I\'m at work today and and I have a meeting with my accountant. He turns up in his new 911 Carrera 4s. He\'s had it a few months but I\'ve not seen it and he\'s always tx\'ing to tell me what car he\'s blown away (I have a cool accountant lol), so I\'m always egging him on cause I do like Porsches :D

Anyway\'s, today he turns up in his Porsche and parks outside. Out the passenger side pops his 16 year old nephew who\'s doing some work experience with him. We\'ve spent almost 2 hours going through paperwork, however mostly paperwork was being interrupted by each of them telling me how they blew past a Beemer, and a Merc, (etc, etc) last week, or last month. So the young one pops out for 10 mins to petrol station for a coke and on the way out he goes past my truck, and hidden behind the truck is the Rex, he comes running straight back in and starts asking who\'s is it, so I tell him it\'s mine and then all I get is "show me, show me, show me". So that pretty much ends our paperwork. I take them out and show them around it, tell them the spec\'s roughly (accountant looking a little nervous now lol). I offer to take them for a spin but accountants says his rushed for time and they have to get going, but the nephews adamant they have enough time for a quick spin. So he jumps in and I start it up, idle a little bit, rev it up and the accountant comes over to my drivers side and says with a smile "oh I expect\'d it to be louder than that cause it looks fast".... Now the games on!

So I drive down to the junction (20 metres away), brand new tarmac, nice hot day today, sticky as FDUK with the AD08\'s I\'m thinking. I wait for all the cars to clear up, roll it slowly into the road... Rev it to 5k\'ish, let the clutch up, bang the accelerator down and there\'s no wheel spin, no clutch slip, no drive-shaft failure, the fduk\'ing thing just flew, the kid just screamed through the four gears, as the car turbo whooshed away and the exhaust popped like a machine gun when I hit the rev limiter in every gear. I know there was a hidden junction in front, so leave it as late as possible and slam on the brakes, there\'s no tyre squeal, no steering wobble/judder, just felt like I\'d probably hit a brick wall, out the corner of my eye I can see my 16 year old passenger jerking forward, with (I think) a slightly painful look on his face as the seatbelt keeps him in place. I come to a halt at the junction and look left at him and he\'s got the biggest smile on his face, "do it again, do it again, plzzzzzz" LOL.

So I take him around a few side roads around work, and they\'re all dead at this time, so I pretty much used every rev in every gear.

We poodle back to work and I pull up next to the kerb and both of us get out.

Uncle says "what you think nephew?" :)
Nephew says "its mental uncle" :D
Uncle says "OKay, you think we should take them both out for a spin sometime?" with a smile on his face :)
nephew smiles and says "it\'ll kill yours! I\'m sitting in this!" :D

Accountant stops the grinning but tries a fake smile and looks at his watch and says "oh is that what time it is, we need to back to the office, I got loads to do" :o

REX 1 - Porsche 0 :D

Hey Geezers,

Last time I picked the car up from the body-shop I still had a few jobs left to do, that I\'ve finally managed to get sorted. Firstly, for some reason the body-shop decided to remove the rear wiper arm but leave the motor in place, go figure  Second my rear window seal was rotten at the joint but i wasn\'t able to get one in time. And last needed to fit a-little-something ;)
