Any tips on taking off a turbo?
Its in a fc, with engine in place etc.
Only way to take out is to attack it with a spanner the best i can?
Easier to jack the car up? though the lower control arm looks to be in the way if jacked up?
Thanks :cool
Your\'s isn\'t a stock Turbo is it ?
I think you should be able to get spanners in to undo the turbo from the manifold, I was able to take the stock turbo off from the manifold whilst the engine was in the car, but you need to reach into some awkward places !
If its in the stock place its a PITA to do. I found doing it from underneath the easiest. But it still took 2 of us a good while to do (and I\'ve got small hands!). One of the top bolts is the hardest one to get at iirc.

Awesome, thanks guys!
Its not stock turbo Prof.
I think i\'ll send in my dog in with a spanner in his mouth lol
Best give myself a day to do this >.<
I\'m doing this aswell! :rollin
I\'m going in from the top and taking off the manifold though.
It\'s annoying looking at pictures on the internet of modified engine bays and seeing how clear and empty they seem once the IC&plumbing has been removed... Then looking at mine.
Getting the odd hour here and there to do bits and so far the TMIC, Intake and upper manifold are all off.
If it\'s going to be easier to take it off from underneath then I\'ll get the jack out.
Might take the bonnet off too as that\'s becomming a PITA and blocking the light.
not sure what turbo you got but i got hks mani and can access from under the car.
i couldnt get spanner to undo the turbo form the mani (not enough space for some reason) so tried to take the tub off with the mani but still cant get it out.
maybe need to take the lim off but then if put lim back on need new gaskets?
Hmm interesting one.
Took me and Mr.froggy a couple of hours to do ours the other day... We removed the down pipe first then the Snail come off then we had room to get around the header. However it still involved getting in to strange spaces.
All the removal was done from the top except removed of down pipe from turbo back and the V-band clamps.
All in all a simple Jim just a little time consuming.
However ours is the GT35r kit from Mazda Rotary Parts
If you ever in somerset and fancy giving me a hand then i\'ll supply drinks and biscuits :Thumbsup!
I think my snail shells are quite large so i cant get spanner in :\'(
