Title: New wheels and tyres on at last!!!!
Post by: rotorhead666 on July 28, 2004, 09:48:45 PM
:D :D :D finally got my Oz F1 Cup wheels fitted on saturday, shod in Toyo Proxes T1-Rs!Must be one of the first 1st gens in the world to get them, surely?Handling is so amazing now it\'s scary!Corners that could only be taken at 40mph can now be done at 70mph,and that\'s not even pushing it at all!The wheel nuts had to be changed for Rover 214 nuts, otherwise the originals would not go far enough into the wheel. While i\'m on the subject, anyone know what psi the tyres should be for 195/50/15s?they\'re set to about 29 at the mo.Here\'s a pic of my 12AT,what do you guys think?

they look nice.

as for pressure I would start at 28psi and see how that goes.

Don,

Looking Good!

I have a Gen1 that needs an engine rebuild. I\'m considering getting a 12a Turbo put in it. Whats she like with a turbo? Anything else that I would need to upgrade along with it ?

She has a gearbox/clutch from an FC and Koni suspension, other than that she is stock.

I know this question is hardly worth asking but how badly is fuel consumption affected by the turbo?

I take it it\'s a 12a turbo you\'re referring to,not an Elford?12a turbos are well worth having, especially if you like having an old car that pulls away from porsches trying to overtake, and like visiting petrol stations often!Apart from the engine,i\'ve upgraded the brakes to Black Diamond drilled and grooved discs on the front, and i also had hawk pads, but found them to be shite. For the full 12a turbo effect(in my opinion...),a good exhaust system is needed too,for the vaaaaaaaaaaaam psssh sound i\'m addicted to!You\'ve already got Konis, which make a difference, and also an FC clutch, like me,which hasn\'t broken yet.
