Hi all,
I just need comments/opinions on this, one of my hobbies is photography and I have just got into alternative processing (basically going back to the first image making processes). I am now printing my own Cyanotypes, the Cyanotype was one of the first processes created in the 1850s, it allows an image to be printed onto paper and it has a dark blue tone to it (although can be stained). It was originally used in engineering diagrams as it was easy to copy over large drawings - due to the blue colour of these copies they were then called \'blueprints\'.
Anyway, I was just thinking if this should just simply remain a hobby or if I should look at perhaps having it as a mini business, I have all the equipment and chemicals needed for the process. Each of the prints are hand coated and manually put together ready for exposure so its partly the additional time aspect and getting the exposure correct for each image.
Here is an example of a Cyanotype, I used one of the pictures of my current car as a demo:
NOTE: this is NOT instagram, this is the real thing

Here are a few others from photos I took myself

Just wondering if anyone would find any commercial value to these or if I should keep it as a hobby?
Quite nice, nice change to see.
A few people might want a pic of their car done like that but imo a limited market as not everyone can appreciate that style.
You developing your own negatives now too?

Yeah, I think the style is more suited to other images,
I\'m working on it with regards to developing film negatives, I will be getting a dev tank at some point, I will need to once I start taking large format images as there isn\'t anywhere I can send them off to lol I would only be able to do black and white though as colour processing is very tricky due to all the different chemicals needing to be at exact temperatures.
Sounds good, im slowly heading that way.. developing negatives B&W.
Got my olympus OM2 which i\'ll squeeze off a few rolls tomorrow :D

I have an older Sony NEX-3 coming, means I can get an adaptor and run all of the older lenses on it :D
lol im doing similar. but manual focus on the mirrorless is not as nice as dont have the slit circle imo

The NEX has a \'focus peaking\' function that shows you what is in focus on the screen. I was all against live view LCD screens, but then remembered that my Pacemaker speed graphic has a massive optical \'live view\' so its actually a smaller viewfinder you put to your eye being the newer innovation rather than a live view.

My 4x5 live view is slightly better, although upside down!
