Title: where\'s the water [roof] coming from
Post by: johnf on May 30, 2013, 03:15:33 PM
As you can see from the pic I\'ve had a shower cap on my FC all through the rain.

It\'s still wet under the seats.

I looks like the only way in would be through the ducks in the bottom of the hood but would this still get into the front of the car?

Can\'t see any other way in - can you

Thanks

Can you sit in it and get someone to spray it with a hose for a few minutes?

In the cabriolets its favourite for water to track down the font qtr windows...

When I\'ve taken out the dash unit on my FC - the air intake for the in car climate stuff was rusted all around - the rubber seal had perished long ago, and water can track through the grill, and then leak out the side and down the bulkhead - soaking the front carpet by the looks of it.

Can also be leaking from the pockets as you say, but that would normally pool just behind the seats, as there is a rigid bar between the sides of the car that the seats mount to.

There are supposed to be weep holes under the carpet to drain water out - but these will be blocked most likely.

Right, I think I\'ve found the problem.
The roof fabric is split just in front of the rain pockets, both sides.
Ran a hose over it and this looks like my problem.

So, need a new roof [mohair]

Did see a company in the uk but can\'t find them now, something like \'allhoods\' ring any bells with anyone.

Any other uk suppliers

Thanks
