Title: ebay advise please
Post by: johnf on May 08, 2013, 08:33:27 AM
I won something off ebay on Sunday night and was automatically advised to
contact the seller for postage costs as this was not listed in the sale.

I\'ve emailed the guy several times asking for the postage cost and had no reply.

Now ebay are asking me to pay, however the invoice they sent me has an estimated delivery amount.

I want to pay - I don\'t want negative feed back for not paying but I can\'t get the guy to email me back.

This was Sunday, it\'s now Wednesday - any advise on what I should do or how long I should wait.

Thanks

If hes not answering emails most probably he wanted more for the item....check he did not have collection only selected.....and if you can afford it pay with paypal....that way ebay will be happy with u and if he does not send out he will have a ebay onto him...you will get your monies back but will be a drawn out affair....head to there resolution centre...theres a load of faqs on there. If you pay and he doesnt send you just open a dispute with paypal and they give him approx 2 weeks to send to you...then theyll return your money.

You can\'t get negative feedback as a buyer John so don\'t worry about that. He could report you as a non-paying buyer but you have your attempts to contact him as evidence so don\'t worry.

Without any contact I wouldn\'t part with any money.

Raise a dispute with eBay, not PayPal.

It\'s not a vast amount of money - £58.00 still don\'t want to throw it away but would really like to complete the purchase.

How long would I leave it before opening a dispute with ebay?

You wont throw it away it will just sit in his paypal acc and if he does not send you open a dispute and the moneys will be returned to you...off the top of my head its a couple of weeks....it might gee him up a bit to except its sold and send.

No worries - just had to file a few disputes recently unfortunately. Lots of fakes on eBay.

I agree you won\'t lose your money though John.

Why don\'t you phone eBay? They are normally quite helpful.
