Hey everyone
I\'m a 16 year old guy with a huge love for jap car, especially RX7s and other rotary beauties. My dad has had an array of jap cars and currently owns a mariner blue MX5 Mk1! But I would love an RX7 as my own but can\'t see it happening!
But yeah, I\'ll be along to ask a few questions I would like to know about.
Oli
Hi bud...start saving now and you never know.....prices are at an all time low .....plus if you bend your old mans arm you could persuade him to let you learn rear wheel drive in the MX5...the cars are cracking and dont deserve the womans hairdresser image.....ive had a bout 17 mx5\'s mk1 at last count and have a rare merlot at present....great drivers cars.
Hello Oli. you could always get a rotary into the NA 5
Hi !
I remember reading in Autocar when the FD RX-7 was launched, seeing the photos of an impossibly curvy silver car in the American sunshine. I was 12 then, was a while until I got my RX-7 late last year!
Unfortunately you\'re probably right that it will take a while before you can get one. Generally running an RX-7 (or any older performance car) requires either a reasonable disposable income, or good mechanical skills to look after it yourself. So maybe try to work towards achieving one or both of these :-)
Do you have the Brian Long book? It\'s a good read, lots of info on the RX-7 and why it is so special.

I\'ve got that book.
Brilliant history of Mazdas devotion to the Wankel! :yes
Oh, and HI! :D
Hi and welcome,
Without wanting to sound like your dad but at your age now if you stick in a bit and get trade/profession/degree then you could be drifting your own comfortably by your twenty.
Owning a fd is awesome but expensive and even harder as an everyday car. My dads neighbour bought one in 1994 and I wanted one since then. It was 2006 when I finally got the chance to own one. Also try to get one before wives/kids etc come along as fd funds will tend to take the back burner then and that\'s how projects become unfinished ones
Oh yeah, if you post a slightly more specific location, you could probably come along to a meet or trackday and get some passenger rides and first-hand advice on what these cars are like to run.
