Hi Guy\'s,
Does anyone know what a twin plate mazdaspeed clutch for an FD3 is rated to BHP/torque wise? I cannot seem to find anything online?
Thank you
Lee
About 425 ish. If its for your 20b. Just get a tripple , a twin won\'t last. :Ladys-man
Hahh haa. busted!
Yeah.. I was looking at one more to get me rolling than anything with the view I will have to get a heavier duty twin or triple down the road. Not got the funds for what I want currently and realistically I am probably some way of needing that!
Thanks for the reply though.
Cheers

A twin plate "should" be ok as your on a stock port motor with the single tub aren\'t you? I have a HKS twin plate rated to 1500hp Aparently. It held a 20B PP twin turbo well enough, the gear box broke before the clutch let go BTW, they\'re not cheap new though.
Cheers Grant! I had noticed the prices! That is why I am on the look out for a second hand one of sorts. As I said even if it just gets me going for now. Will have to just put a stocker back in if push comes to shove! Would be nice to have something a bit better!
I have a mazdaspeed twin in my FD and it holds around 480 easily. not anything like a slip on my bw s366 mapped to 1 bar by jay :). light pedal too
Isn\'t it the torque not the HP you should be looking at? eg. you could have a 350hp 13b then put a V8 in and have same 350hp but with twice the Torque..... you would not expect the same 13b clutch to hold?
Don\'t forget by Nature the 13b is always going to have a higher Torque to HP ratio so what works for a 400hp 13b might be inadequate for a 20b.
Correct Grizzly. My original request did ask for power/torque I appreciate a lot of people rate on bhp and would look for something suitable above my bhp goal for the 20b. Also I am not too sure what torque the 20b will be making if i am honest.. Got a vague idea.
Bmatharu I was in fact hoping for answer to determine if I could use your clutch for now or not?! Can\'t seem to find anything online really about them other than I gather it is discontinued and possibly made by Exedy?
