Title: urgent help needed
Post by: adamfitz on March 21, 2013, 07:16:33 PM
Driving along minding my own when the \'heat\' light comes up on the dash. Goes off after 2 or 3 seconds. Comes on again after 20 yards or so for similar duration of time. Car starts to go lumpy and then revs rise before I turn it off. If someone could be so kind and ring me 07791555033 I can explain better

Heat light is knock detection ...or aka detonation mate....rather dangerous mate for your engine....

Sorry to hear this Adam, when you say lumpy do you mean running like a tractor lumpy

It spluttered a little bit, didn\'t sound like a tractor. Ran a sensor check and everything was fine. Light was only intermittent. Spoke with a couple of people off of fduk. Drove it home and everything was fine. Going to speak with carl this afternoon after work

Yep, best to check. I got mine flickering on a lot when I floored it. Pip had a check and a drive and decided it was just being too sensitive. The knock sensor is basically just a microphone and if your car is noisy for whatever reason it can set it off.
