Hi, I need some ideas on how to fit my big gay wing to the back of my FD.
I used to have a 1600mm wing fitted to the OEM tailgate, I then bought a FRP tailgate and a 1700mm Dragon wing, the new wing really needs a solid support and I do not wish to bolt it on to the thin FRP hatch that I currently have.
I do not want to go OTT with the wing fitting because I dont want to spend loads and dont have much time or skill for bespoke fab - I would like to mount it to a subframe like the revolution time attack car but thats too much work.
I thought about mounting to the rear quarter panel but struggling to think how I could make it solid enough, the sections of the panel directly under the hatch are also uneven (no right angles) and the wing stanchion is 10mm plate with sharp right angles.
The dragon wing came with stanchions with a dragons head cut into them, I think it looks a bit chav tbh so I am thinking about getting bespoke uprights CNC`d to order and binning the dragon uprights.
any tips or ideas on fitting a BGW please?
