Title: wiring
Post by: fly on July 25, 2004, 02:30:46 PM
Yesterday i finished my vacuum/coolant hose job, car started first time but now i have a big problem:reallymad , the car drives along fine until the turbos have to kick in at about 2000rpm, after that point the car just splutters and wont accelerate at all, it splutters backfires and then when i depress the clucth it makes a whining noise.

I took the turbo pre-control solenoid out and tested it with a 9v battery and it works fine so im assuming (until i check ina abit) that the electrical connection is broken at some point inside the loom, so does anyone in the know think itsa good idea to change the wiring inside the engine bay, as it is very worn looking.....

Would this be a job way to big for someone who\'s first attempt at vehicle maintenance was doing the vac hose job?

(any1 got any other ideas about the stuttering prob as well, i tried disonn the bat and depressing the brake pedal incase the car was in limp home mode)

heh dude,
not easy to help you. To many thing which can be wrong. best is, to get somebody who will check your car and has made the vac job lots of time for fast diag.

Just a try. Check your Batery- ground connection. When the chasis is not grounded correctly to the batary, will couse the problems you explained.
