Hi,
Just needed a little bit of help, I bought a power fc for my car last week and realised that I need to check if it works as I bought from abroad, I was told one way you could check if the PFC works which is connect it up and if the car starts it works but I was also told that it should be in a base map if your unsure just reset it, but what I want to know is how do I reset it and will it be okay to disconnect the original ecu and replace it with the PFC and how would I do it, do I have to disconnect the battery? All I have on the car is a back box, I bought it like this.
Thank You Everyone!
You are supposed to disconnect the battery but should be okay with just the ignition off.
To reset it to base map you need a commander (the hand unit)
If you have one just go down to ETC, Initialize, ignition off and back on, to let it learn to idle start the car and let it tickover for 10 minutes, then switch the heaters on for 10 minutes then put the A/C on for 10 minutes then your done.
Phil
Hey Phili
I do have the commander with it, wat do mean by etc? And how would I reset it with the commander? Sorry if that\'s a dumb question but I\'m still tryin to learn lol.
Thank You
When you first switch it on the commander will display three options Monitor, Settings and ETC.

Hi phil,
Thank you for the link, I wanted to ask you a question and it didn\'t say, can I disconnect the original ecu and replace with the PFC and turn ignition on and do the all data initialise is it safe to do that? Will that be okay because once you turn ignition on it will send petrol through but will it be okay? Also at the end before the data initialise it asks turn Ignition off do I click yes and then start the car?
Are those the main things to do to get the PFC running? Because that\'s all it states, is there anything else? There\'s only a small description on all data initialise.
Thank You For Your Help Phili!
When you put the ignition on the fuel pump will fun for a couple of seconds but the fuel doesn\'t go into the engine as the injectors aren\'t being told to open, only the fuel lines get pressurised.
Once you switch the ignition off the old map is wiped and the default is loaded on, then just start the car.
Some cars stumble and cut out a few times for a few minutes, others run fine from the start.
Before you start the car, there is a small screw on the throttle body, under the elbow (use a mirror if you cant feel the hole its in) screw this all the way in, then unscrew it a 1/2 turn, this can help idling problems later.
Hi phil,
Okay thank you so much for reinsuring me, I did about the screw and will do what it said, I\'m going to do it on Sunday so I will post and tell you how it went, thank you so much for your help!!
Hey,
Just to update I haven\'t done it yet as I was busy Sunday and will have a crack at it 2mro wanted to ask is there any wires I have to cut?
Thanks
Hey,
I thought I\'ll Update I had a crack at the PFC and I got it, lol it\'s all working now followed all the instructions and it\'s all good.
Thanks for you help philli!
Glad it\'s all good mate. You don\'t need to cut wires on an import. Think you do on a UK car.
Oh okay, because I was reading one off the threads u gave and it said in that but I think that was on an American ex but yh thank you for your help, also wanted to ask will it still have the warm up start feature?
Thank You
Sorry one more question, when the car was imported it was limited to 110mph will that have gone now?
Thanks
Thermo wax pellet on the throttle body will still increase idle speed.
Speed limit is gone.:evillaugh:
