Well and truly taking it too the v8s now:D
fantastic news!
Grant thanks for sharing... GAS Motorsports would be seriously considering their options with their 2jz powered car now lolll
Its indeed a great news
Mir
GAS are running sub 6.3s now I think?? So there a bit ahead although i imagine the rotaries to be at that by the end of this year.
The 2 rotor world record was also beaten earlier this year, I think it\'s down to 6.7. Will have to check that one though:)
It\'s amazing what 60psi and methanol can do these days :evillaugh
I think this is the fastest 2 rotor
http://youtu.be/hvUcdlr8TP8
Just how much quicker can they get?! 1200+ HP 13Bs:evillaugh
Damn, that\'s fast, little way off the top V8 Pro-Mod cars but there is not much between the 3 rotors and 2JZ cars.
Yeh I know pro mods are runnin into the 5s now! They\'re challenging the methanol dragsters these days.
But they\'re not running consistent sub 6s.....yet
you know major league has geohimers (new generation) old motor that set the prev world record dont you?
there will be 6.3 and 6.2\'s this year from new build cars (loquuito) and the new geohimer setup, dont rule out the new ian either. then there\'s the aussies, mazfix and pac
its amazing how differently they go about building 20b\'s from p.r to aus
All I want to see is 20b beating the record of GAS Motorsports. :flamed:burnout

I didn\'t know that, must show that their car is slightly better setup for that track to pull a lower time.
The PR cars always seem to sound more mellow than the Australians. PACs 6 sounds really aggressive, PAC still have the record for being the fastest, I think they\'re at 221MPH so their times should come down a fair bit if they get a cooler day or even a night run.

or lighter ;) majorleague is full fibreglass
The new generation car is a 3/4 chassis isn\'t it? I think these record claims need to backed up with actually car weight plus driver, as some of the top 10 rotaries are starlets with 13Bs in them and they weigh about as much as a mouse crap
PAC Performance is still the fastest Rotary on earth 220mph :)
A PR 3/4 is really not a genuine 3/4 chassis!! Chopping everything and leaving the strut turrets and tieing it all together with chromolly tube is not a proper 3/4 chassis.
new generation rx8 has oem firewall, a pillar and front turrets, major league is full tube
i think mazfix will be a good contender this year
yeh agreen colum - will be good to see what theMazfix guys can do on the full billet motor and 60+psi of boost :bandit hopefully they can run the boost 2jz run and live...
Are they running a 20B billet engine? I remember seeing the pictures of the 13B billet engine
Yes I believe they
they ran billet, then didnt, now back to billet again
Will they even be running cooling with the billet? I wouldn\'t have though too much need for it running methanol. I remember mazfix crashing the car last year! Sure it went onto the roof.
How\'s your rx8 coming along Colum?
gathering dust while i collect bits and sort other cars/motors, its not really a priority at the moment tbh
Cars are never a priority, especially the ones that are your own. I\'m sure it will be finished before you know it. It will be nice to see it running, hopefully in the 8 second zone;)
im hoping we get robs deep into the 8\'s this year, mine will run what it runs, the liberty should help me though
Be good to see rob running 8s and consistently which is the main thing.
Has the car been running up on the dyno yet? To get the time closer to racing setup?
nothing has changed since last year apart from a clutch and a gearbox rebuild.
I haven\'t heard anything about the car since rotorstock and he had just had a new turbo and rebuild. The car was running a bit poor then. I take it it has been sorted now then?
Wasn\'t the ecu changed too?
ecu was changed over 2 years ago, yeah, a few electrical gremlins at rs last year and map scaling for new turbo, that was all sorted quickly by marco intime for the next round where we found the car was overpowering the clutch. getting the consistency the car is known for back is this years goal :) think a complete new motor build at the end of this year is on the cards now too as that one is nearly 5 years old now, always learning :)
5 years? That just goes to show that J ports, big bridges, last a long time
any motor lasts a long time if you build it correctly, use decent parts and maintain it correctly, porting and tuning is always changing, robs ports are waaaay out of date now :) we have a few things planned for his and my new motors :)
Is rob staying with the side ports?
