After all the rumors and hoax\'s, I am told that Mazda dealers today have been informed that in 2015/16 that there will definatly be a brand New Rotary skyactive pwered RX-7 :Thumbsup!
Thanks for sharing this Clive. It\'s indeed a great info/news. Do you know what that sky-active RX7 would offer to the perspective buyers? Can you put a deposit down for one? As i cant wait to have one lolll Or I guess it\'s time to start saving ;)
Well chuffed with this news :).. I just hope that the news is reliable and not merely intended to get our hopes high.
Cheers

Welcome to 2011 Grant :P

As noted by Autoblog, the tweet is a naturally spartan form of communication, even in Japanese. But our favorite machine translators tell us that it\'s not so much the character count as it is the official stance that\'s limiting the content about the next rotary.
The tweet starts with a thank-you to fans of the RX-8 and the rotary, and goes on to say that Mazda is "zealously developing" the next generation of the rotary engine--with the benefit of its Skyactiv fuel/emissions technology, closing with another thanks for the continued support.
Presumably it will be the flagship car for the laser ignition tech as well?
How cool would that be, laser powered rotary.
I know I\'m amazing but I can\'t be expected to know everything Marf;):)
Several companies have laser ignition working, faster and more complete ignition is the path to efficiency...
Think I might save up enough cooler to buy one :D
Time to start saving I think!
My "spy" has sent me this as the images to go with the announcement which is the Kabura concept
Obviously I dont expect it to look the same but if you think back to the Evlolve (pictured below) which became the RX-8, I would expect it to look something fairly close
Wasn\'t that branded the rx9? It\'s very 370z, if the front became a little more aggressive then I\'m in:D
Great news! I hope this wipes the floor with the overpriced nonsense that is the GT86!
The GT86 is actually rather good.... Have you driven one? /tin hat on/
Yep they drive very well
I hope that the new rx7 does not look anything like those pictures. In my opinion that looks hideous!
be a 1.6l too ! :InLove
Insurance companies and tax will have a field day with the 1.6 capacity. Well sir it\'s down on our system as 3.6 litre, so your insurance means you have to bend over and take it like a man, then pay a deposit of 500 before we even entertain insuring you!
Mind you by the time this is out I will be nearly 30 so maybe a bit cheaper

Seconded

As far as insurance goes, if it\'s fast enough to be a worthy successor to the FD, then it\'s going to be fairly high insurance. However I think anyone who can afford a brand new one when they come out will likely be fine with insurance, and by the time they\'re more affordable secondhand, we\'ll all be older anyway.
I just hope it\'s a worthy successor to the FD - and that Mazda sell more than 126 in the UK this time !
