My RX7 is finally drivable on the road (hooray)
I replaced the coilpacks today and now the car is running great for the most part...
There is one small issue left though and it\'s a weird one...
After driving for a while (doesn\'t seen to be any correlation with time) the car will start bogging down if I put my foot down... However if I turn the engine off and restart it, then the problem goes away... Doesn\'t even need any appeciable amount of time either, as I did it while coasting along still when it started to play up... Maybe 5 seconds between off and starting again...
The only thing I can think of for this, is that the fuel pump isn\'t quite keeping enough fuel flow going and it eventually drops in pressure and the restart repressurises the fuel system...
Can anyone else think of anything else I can check?
Thanks in advance :)
i have no idea to be honest , but congrats on getting her drivable again :D
Thank you very much grinder :D
i suppose the first thing to do would be replace the fuel filter ??
Its not that expensive to do and you can rule that out as being an issue
You could do the 12v mod to the fuel pump aswell .. again , rules out bad voltages etc..
I already did the fuel filter :) Thought of that one already :)
That\'s true, I had been thinking about doing the 12v mod to the fuel pump, it\'s is on my "to-do" list for the car, but I\'d forgotten all about it until you just said... I was hoping to hold off until I\'d moved the battery to the boot though, but it\'s definately worth a try at this point. Thanks :)
Whats the 12v mod?
you can use a relay to make sure that the fuel pump see\'s 12v ALL the time
Its something to do with the age of the wiring in the cars etc..
