Nice pic Lee!

That\'s what we could see from the stands - looks like you need to stiffen it up a bit. The "pro" drift cars were rock solid on the suspension so now you have a good excuse! :p

I cant stiffen it, so theres not much I can do about it now!  Its just right on the road though, but I can see taking it on track becoming frustrating.

what suspension setup have you got?

mine is standard and i\'m wondering how it will perform on trackdays

I thought it was adjustable - Is it only height adjust then?

I suppose you could get harder springs but then it\'s going to bit bumpier on the road.

Only height adjustable as far as im aware.

Its gas filled, so I guess you could drain the gas and refill it differently or something.

The springs are already 9 and 7, which is pretty hard although it doesnt feel it at all.  I guess maybe I looked upside down and its a 6, but as I wasnt there when it was fitted I dont know for sure.

When I used standard suspension it wasnt all that bad, but there is way too much body roll.

Do you just have standard anti roll bars?

I would guess so.

I have HKS Hiper D coilovers, but the rest of it suspension wise is standard I think.

Nope.  These dont feel that hard.  As said on the road they feel pretty good, but on track they felt a bit soft.

Should be changing my tyres today though, and I think they hindered the feel a lot so I should be able to tell a lot more.

ARC do lots of nice suspension stuff for the 3rd gen.

I think my car used to be a drift/track car as its like a rock, and about 5 inches off the ground.

As well as the standard antiroll bars i have another arc one on each axle, the rear has stiffening bars going from the roll bar to the chassis either side of the gearbox tunnel.

I wish i had a camera so i could show you what i mean.

Believe me together with coilovers it gives me very little body roll. If you are wanting to seriously stiffen her up this could be the way to go. I planning on getting a camera soon so if you are interested i can send you picks of my setup....

The downside to this is its not road friendly at all. When you go over a pebble you know all about it! But when you go round a corner it handles like an absolute dream with very little roll.

Im also running with Ohlins coilovers...

At the moment im actually thinking about selling it.  Its still a really nice road car right now.

Its going to cost more than I can afford to spec it how I want it, no-one will ever want to buy it off me and when I crash it ill be loads of trouble due to the cost of parts.

Still thinking over my options.

Yes he is very good.

Thats Julian, normally driving the E30 3 Series with the M3 engine.  The Skyline he was driving has actually been sold and was being collected the next day!

Been round it a few times... on Gran Tourismo - very cool looking track.

Hopefully will get out to SoCal next summer (road trip and vegas baby!) so timing going past there with a race meet would be good...  Watching the Superbikes from there the other week shows how hilly it is - reminded me of Donny.

Lee,
what would you get if sold it,  i was thinking of selling mine but there is nothing that i could buy for even twice as much that would touch it on speed.

A skyline would cost more than my whole car to get as quick, been a bit spoilt now.
regards
tony

BTW   they look like merc amg wheels!

Starform D2 Split Rims.  I dont really like them, but people all weekend were telling me they loved them.  Back on my Volks now anyway, just depends whats got tyres.

As for what I would get, probably an imported car with all the stuff I want on it.  2 Way LSD and Rollcage being the top two things.  Seems a shame to mess up whats a nice car and will cost me a lot of money to do.

Something with a better power delivery would help too for drifting.  A single turbo FD would be good, but thats more money I dont have.

I also should bear in mind that crashing will happen.  A bonnet for an FD is £200 if I can find one.  I bonnet for a 200SX is £20.  That said, I dont want a 200SX...

Cheers
Lee

shhh a new bonnet costs best part of £700 so you have yerself a bargain there mate you know if you drift in a 200 you just melt into the crowd, get a FD going well & its (http://img15.photobucket.com/albums/v44/scooby_si/knel.gif) time

if you enjoy drifting that much, keep the rx stock for the road and with money you will save on parts and goodies, buy a cheap drifter and run it into the ground.  Can you drif the old s13?

Are they Mercedes AMG wheels, or just lookalikes. I ask, because I just sold my old set of AMG 18"s as I didn\'t think that they\'d fit on the RX7

I cant afford to keep an RX for the road and run a drift car.  Its mainly the fuel consumption thats just killing me which is why its my 2nd car now as it is.

Could drfit an S13, not going to because everyone has one :D

Totally agree with you there Lee, lots of S13\'s drifting and what not, always good to be different:)

Thats why we drive what we do..................

Hmmmmmm,

interesting, as you guys know i\'m one of those people who looks after my car very carefully, thus no track days / 1/4 mile days and so forth.

You may ask whats the use in having all that power without any fun??? well i have fun alright just not the limit of messing the car up!!!

So know what Lee\'s on about, as i have a fair amount tied up in the rx too so wouldn\'t wanna wreck it:(
