After a successful Rotarystock event in 2011, Kees and many of the guys you already know from our own Rotorstock are holding another on the 7th July this year.
This is a very different event to Rotorstock in that it is for ALL Rotarys as the link to when Lisa and myself took the RX-4 last time will show.
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forum...ht=rotarystock
Held at a tarmac oval circuit (to play on ) you will find not only an amazing array of cars and bikes but also the warmest welcome you can imagine from all the people there who we already know will be from Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Germany and probably others.
Some members have already expressed an interest in this event and we will bring you more details of the Hotel etc as we sort this out further.
As with any MRC event this trip will extend to any Rotary owner so feel free to post this elsewhere and if we get enough to go "hopefully" we can get some sort of discount on the shuttle for us all.
Here is a youtube link of the last event
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjAQ8ZyluBw
The event is being held at http://www.midland-circuit-lelystad.nl/
If you put midland-circuit-lelystad.nl into Google Earth you will see the actual place we are going to
I\'m interested in this. Out of interest, do you go Dover - Calais or Felixstowe - Rotterdam? Just out of curiosity really.
Misses walked in when she heard the "music" in that video! :-O
It will be via the shuttle, looked at a ferry trip to Zeebrugge but that would hardly be a road trip as its not far to the event from there
Put Mrs R and myself on the list for this trip. Been looking forward to this since it was discussed at Rotorstock 2012.
CJR
I am interested in this event, looks good!

Ok, sounds good. Put me down provisionally. I don\'t see any problems with being able to make it, but will know for sure a little closer to the time. What do you all do for accommodation etc? Obviously being new, this particular trip and show isn\'t one I\'m aware of, so sorry for the questions!
Blimey - hpow rare to see those rotary Citroen\'s... I thought most were scrapped by citroen?
I hope to see all off you. Its gonna be a great event :Giggle
I remembering you talking about this before Clive. Does look like a great time. I would like to say I could come but seeing as Hannah is expecting our new lil rotor head around that time it just won\'t be possible
Hope you all have a great time. Take loads of pictures for a shoe report
Adam
Wow, one can dream and such a shame, tis not far from where I was only last Sept - Duinrell, Wassenaar! :(
Realistically how much is this to cost excluding fuel please :) I mean for crossing entrance fee camp or hotel etc etc. so I can suss out funding. Got several expensive trips to USA for a course this year so funds are tight but this sounds awesome
The shuttle price may depend on the amount of us going, but we can find out Hotel and admission prices, which we will
I will also ask if people are allowed to camp if they wish.
Reply from Kees this morning,
Admission prices are not known yet, I think they will be around 10 euro\'s.
There\'s no camp site at the circuit, but possibilties to camp near Lelystad.
If people wish to come earlier, we can also arrange a campsite halfway the journey near our location, they can move on 1 day later to Lelystad, I can arrange some sightseeing near us.
I would like to come i will park the 8 out side :) looking forward to the up dates that will be the forth trip away amanda will be looking for a new partner if i keep doing this:evillaugh i just blame you clive for enticing me:evillaugh

Sorry Clive some one has to look after the boy he will not eat if we leave him with anyone else hence we had no holiday for 2+years :evillaugh
Hi
Just trying to check whether anyone is interested in joining us to the Rotary event on Sunday 7th July in Holland.
So far there is only myself & Clive & Chris (CJR) & Tina going.
We will be leaving on the Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais on Friday, 5th July.
We will then drive to Holland on the Friday, to arrive at the hotel early evening, with Saturday as a free day before attending the event on the Sunday.
I will obtain details of the hotel that we stayed at before, should anyone be interested.
Would be good to have more Rotary enthusiasts joining us for this event.
Kees, who is organising the event, has attended Rotorstock every year since Rotorstock 2, so we feel it only proper to attend his event.
There will many Rotary owners attending from neighbouring countries. Last time we went, there was a big presence of 1st gens there which outnumbered all other models, and all in beautiful condition.
Assuming that my car is running I would like to make this trip with you
What would the hotel cost and euro star cost as I have still 30days of euro cover left if I can get the time off I would like to come but cannot make a firm commitment till 25 of June sorry I fear this will be to late by then:Hammer
Good see that there is some more interest in this event.
Our plan is go down on the Friday and return Sunday evening.
We will be going via Eurotunnel from Folkstone getting the 11.20am shuttle so we can drive up to the Netherlands during the afternoon, early evening.
The cost of the return trip for the shuttle is £114.00

You\'ll be fed up of driving by Thursday...Glasgow today and Staines tomorrow !!
Just let me know what your plans are when you work them out. Would prefer to set off some time Thursday morning after the rush hour. Intend a stress free cruise down at un-normal speeds for an FD !! :rollin
If I can help at all let me know..I plan to be in the Plant in Yorkshire this week.
Don\'t forget your passports
Driving licence & photcard
European breakdown cover
Insurance documents - make sure you are covered to drive in Europe.
I think that\'s it, but if anyone thinks of anything else we might need, post on here.
Tell the insurers you\'re driving in France, Belgium and Netherlands (since you will be). Some useful info here on the AA page on driving in Europe:
France: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/overseas/driving-abroad-whats-new-2012.html
Belgium: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/belgium.pdf
Netherlands: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/netherlands.pdf
Speed is in km/h (don\'t go thinking you\'ve hit the jackpot :) )
Reflective jacket (per person)
Warning triangle
Breathalysers legally required but there is no fine for not carrying.
No speed detectors/satnavs with speed cameras listed.
Ian.
Thanks Ian

This is the event that is on on Saturday,

Yep just did a straight 16 hours of rebuilding the near side running gear:Hammer some of it was a pig to remove I got the donee bits from our joint group buy to strip bits from. An 05 reg for the five of us that bought Patrick\'s car and to let\'s us take what parts we need and still leave it undercover. In his car port has been invaluable Any way it\'s all back together now and I am off to bed :2Confused:2Confused
More to do and it\'s rebooked for the wheel alignment tomorrow if that goes well then I should Finnish this by Thursday night.
Hope to see you all at the port

Brilliant "road trip" event and the weekend upholding Rotary honour for the UK amongst the Europeans excellent and very varied, great drive up to Lelystad on the Friday with a fun day trip into Amsterdam and on to Rotarystock on the Sunday,
Rotarystock itself has a very different feel with many cars we would never see and is an excellent alternative to our Rotorstock which is a totaly different style of event.
Tony and Chris\'s cars blew the socks off of all who saw their great cars, and Jim blew away the opposition on the sprint track with his TII only beaten by a very determined FB full blown Rallycross car, plus it was nice that Ian\'s R3 being the only one at the event.
All who went will tell you that no matter where we went we were made very very welcome, with many now coming over to our Rotorstock on the 17th August, hopefully next time more will come with us as something into Europe is already being asked for in 2014
Huge thanks to all who made a really great weekend for Lisa and myself, made me remember that this great club is all about the cars we drive and the wonderful people in our Rotary world both here and abroad :Thumbsup!

:Giggle ooops your cover is blown Tony...to me that was just a collection of like minded individuals congregrating outside a regular shop....but now you\'ve provided a \'larger\' (careful) version, well all I need to ask is "what\'s that in your hand" ??? :Giggle

Well done Jim,
That was still the best time you set. After all you were in a street car on stock ECU and the Dutch guy had a stripped out race car and only just beat your time.
Was it down to your driving...or the new plugs from Tony ???:Giggle
Chris
You know me of course it was down to fresh plugs
:spank
:Thumbs-up nice pics and video Jim (and Heidi!). Nice driving too!
Clearly it must have been the new plugs..................;):p
Well I did take some pics as well - but its taken me a while to get around to posting them up. Guess the caption for the above would have to be "Would you like to supersize that?"
On the trip out and "cruising" around Amsterdam...
Cars on display... the 20B was inside the red FD and absolutely immaculate!
Around the track - Jim showing how it should be done and the suspension on the NSU doing ...er... interesting things.
Also some of the more unusual vehicles that had rotary engines. Curse that slightly shiny leather.
Some of the other events that were going on around the show - all for the kiddies but they were really going for it!
And finally some before and after pictures of an FB that had been beautifully restored.
Done posting pics :)
Ian.
Well worth the wait Ian :Thumbsup!
