ok i think i know what the stutter is all about now so thats problem solved but my next issue is the exhaust on my car, at the moment it is fitted with a blitz sr 4.5" back box. (i think its cat back, may be more unsure as yet) anyway as much as i like a nice noise this thing is just too much especially when im trying to creep home at 3am. the idle is just too much
i tried a db reducing baffle and that just messed with my revs and turbo spool up etc etc so what can i do?
could i fit a silencer mid pipe would that harm it much or should i just trade it in for something more mild say a silenced 4" or a twin 2.5" what do you guys suggest?
A silenced midpipe would do some but a better back box would really help in conjunction with a decent midpipe silencer. Blitz back boxes are notoriously loud!
i dont mind loud but when your full throttle and WANT to wake the dead! not when its 3am and you cant amble down the road without setting car alarms off. my neighbours hate me already from when i had a skyline with anti lag and screamer pipe
I would go with a smaller diameter exit and a better silencer... 4.5" is just a megaphone!
That is quite a large rear can, perhaps look around for some \'dolphin tail\' back boxes to cut down the sound a bit. I\'m guessing you are running a fairly massive turbo to need such a large back box though lol
I got carl to make me a custom exhaust with twin boxes and wow it really quietened it down, even with the 5" tailpipe on its still pretty quiet and sounds absoulutely amazing higher up the rev range, would def recomend 1 of these
Oh well looks like more parts to be swapped and changed then!
Is the whole system 4.5 inch? I used to have a tiger back box, much quieter than most Back boxes but was loud when I floored it.
Not sure it\'s going up on a car lift today to have a good look
car will be returned to standard and i can then start again and do it my way so i have security in what has been done
