Title: Exhaust options
Post by: Ricco_04 on December 16, 2012, 06:24:45 PM
Considering changing my setup (several reasons) Now for ease of not having to pee about with putting a cat on for every mot is anyone able to give me any evidance of what a twin turbo fd does emissions wise on these setups :

1. Standard center cat
2. Sports cat
3. Decat + air pump
4. Decat (air pump eliminated)

When I had a stock setup I had virtually no emissions to register (I did have a pre cat too though, hense no.1)

Mucho appreaciated :yes

I was told at my mot that even if the car passes the test without an mot it\'s a fail. Seems daft to me but that\'s the uk for you.

Anyone able to help?

How about anyone who has a sports cat - can you tell me what emissions you get on the test?

Just tell them there is a sports cat built into the downpipe, its not like they are going to take it off and check

They have never actually been bothered if one is fitted just that it passes which is good :wiggle  However im interested in having one permantly fitted as it seems im going to need one on there regardless for mot to be able to get the emissions low enough but im trying to find out if it lowers the emissions enough for my test

Well at work when i mot cars we get a lot of performance cars which have been modifyed and remapped and to be honest putting a cat on doesnt always bring it down enough to get it through the emissions test, sometimes you need to pull off a vaccum pipe going to the boost sensor and muck about with the fueling to get it through
