Post by: 1988typer on November 25, 2012, 01:20:04 PM
Have a t66 single turbo setup 1500cc injectors apexi ecu...

Major boosting problem. Every time the car boosts and pressure builds up it hesitates cutting boost on and off viciously??!!

Anyone have any idea where i start

Sounds like a fuel or ignition cut to me? Might be best to put up the specs, im guessing you are using a 3 bar MAP sensor etc?

Is there any where near gloucester that i could take this to? Its not boosting at all now. Soon as boost trys to cut in it just splutters.

check the clutch, try to pull away with the hand brake on and see if it tries to move. It\'s probably not the issue but an easy check to rule it out.

doesnt need to be hks plugs. pretty sure theyre just rebranded ngk iridiums. just go to any decent parts stores and they should be able to get decent heat range ngk plugs.

You sure, mine did exactly this, and was a nightmare finding the fault.

It had a 3 paddle clutch fitted 600 miles ago. When i was driving the car my friend following said when it was trying to boost it was spitting flames out.

Thing is i brought plugs last week ngk platinum ones because the car would even start from could and ever since i\'ve had them in i\'ve had nothing but problems it seems. So i managed to hunt down new hks iridium plugs for 14 quid each which i think is a decent price also brought new leads. Once i have fitted that its going for a re-map. Hopefully fingers crossed that should be the last of my boosting problems

examine the clutch i465 black, try to take away with the side braking mechanism on and see if it tries to shift. It\'s probably not the problem but an simple examine to concept it out.

Clutch is fineeeeee!!!! Its 100% a boost problem. The boost has gone from spiking bad to worse and now not boosting what so ever. Just fitted new hks plugs and leads and still the problem is not solved. Really p*ss*ng me off now. Is there anyone near gloucester/bristol/birmingham that i can take my rx to that can help. I have a funny feeling that my external wastegate could be causing this problem. But would prefer letting someone that knows what they are doing with rotarys to have a look?!
