Yes, it did help - it removed a lot of the boominess at tickover and shuffling about speeds which is what I wanted coz that\'s annoying for the neighbours.
No doubt it will be sapping power, so I am planning to do a proper job with a bigger and better silencer. I guess at that point I\'ll have to try welding the poor teapot back together again so I can get a decent brew. :Thumbs-up
