Title: Heater matrix leaking
Post by: 1988typer on November 11, 2012, 10:24:39 AM
Purchased my rx-7 last weekend when i got it the water pipes that go into the heater matrix was pulled off and blocked up. So obviously because of the time of year being so cold i thought i would link them back up. Seemed fine. Then 2 days after linking them up steaming hot water started pouring out from up behind the dash abouts where the glove box is.

Does anyone know what this could be before i start taking things apart. And would the dash need to come out?

I think it is a dash out job. Well it is on the FC at least. Make sure the hoses are attached correctly at the bulk head and make sure the pipe the hose attaches to is not dented or damaged. Mine was dented underneath so when you tightened up the jubilee clip it didn\'t seal correctly. It leaked into the inside of the car because of this.

It can be done without having the total dash removed but it does take a few hours :3Confused

Thanks guys.. Im 95% sure its the matrix pipes were on tight and there was no water dripping or leaking from outside the car. Just inside. Prob the reason why it was disconnected in the first place.

Dave if its the right dave im nathan you brought a rx7 from me last year sometime i think. Do you have a contact number?
