Title: Anyone attending a track/drift day? Need your help...
Post by: jackaleks on November 10, 2012, 10:38:53 PM
Basically, I need to attach a microphone and a camera to a car and record a few laps. Nothing on the bodywork, a couple of mics in the cabin is all!

I\'ll bribe you with a crate of beer as well :wave

There\'s a club trackday at Brands on Fri 7th Dec, it\'s full up now so I have missed it, however if you were to go along then you could possibly ask someone there to help you out on the first part of your request:

Note, for trackdays I\'ve been to, cameras generally have to be securely mounted (suction cups are explicitly banned), so you would need some way of achieving this.

When do you need to do this?  And what is it for?  And do you care which type of rotary or what state of tune it\'s in?  My car\'s being serviced right now, but I could possibly help (although there\'s probably someone nearer you)

Whereabouts are you? I\'m in North Kent but i don\'t mind travelling around a bit.

I live ten minutes away from Brands, drop me an email if you\'re ok to have some mics clipped on:

Basically it\'s for my final year degree project; the basic idea is to mic up a car, video it then mix the whole lot in surround sound. Ideally i\'d like to record an FD, but i\'m not too fussy and all opportunities to do some recording are worth the experience alone. I would use my own FD, were it not in the middle of the most penny pinched single conversion ever...
