Title: patch lokking thing on rear wheel-well
Post by: MothAngel on July 19, 2004, 01:50:59 AM
Does anyone have a  clue why there is what looks to be a "patch" (make to fit and match the cars exterior) on the front part of the rear wheel well.  I cant figure out its purpose and wanted to make sure im not the only one.

thanks

I think you might be talking about the clear stone chip protection that most car manufacturers fit to prevent stone chips on vunerable areas of the car.

If so its perfectly normal and most Mazda\'s have had them fitted for at least 14-15 years.

That\'ll be the armorfend.

Make sure it\'s been stuck on properly, as one of mine wasn\'t and started collecting dirt underneath. Anyway, i left it that long that the dirt has stained the bodywork underneath  . My dealer has tried to polish it out, but it\'s still there. The only thing left now, is a trip to the bodyshop, which I will sort out when I get the car serviced in about 5 months time.
