Title: Strange Apexi power fc problem??
Post by: wiggman2030 on October 29, 2012, 02:09:34 PM
My FD decided after a run to idle and rev really strangely from about 1,000rpm to 2,000rpm multiple times. At the same time the Apexi power fc maximum values turned to dashes ----- on a few of the settings on the monitor screen. It only lasted a little while but seemed to do it twice on the whole run.

Any ideas?

If a sensor or wiring goes open circuit it shows up as dashes, do you know which readings it was?

I believe it was the air temp and the water temp. As soon as it finished its crazy moment I just reset the maximum values and it\'s all good again. I\'ll keep an eye on it to see which one it is cause that\'s just from remembering in a panic lol

Yeah I had same problem with water and air temp, just showed as dashes. All it was, was loose connections under the hood.

Do you mean the air and water temp sensor wires were loose? I think I have found the problem. I recently had the dash out to change the heater matrix and the wire from the commander to the ecu was catching. I rerouted it and now the problem hasn\'t returned..... Yet lol. Thanks for the help though. I will check for loose connections anyway :-)

Yeah the pfc wiring will tap into the cars water temp sensor and inlet air temp sensor, so make sure these connections are good and not loose, also make sure the actual sensors themselves are working perfectly, but it sounds like you have cured the problem as if the wire was catching it could well have interrupted the electrical feed the pfc was sending to the commander, resulting in the commander showing no reading :) hope then problem don\'t return.
