Title: low boost problems
Post by: KaiserDamz on October 06, 2012, 05:31:47 PM
Took my car for a dyno and the boost was only at 0.38 bar which produced some very low scores.  Any idea why my boost is so low? guy at the dyno reckons vacuum pipes have cracked or split which is causing pressure loss.

turbo\'s spool up no problem and switch over with no issues.

any idea\'s why the boost is so much lower than it should

There might be pipes that are leaking - check the Y piece as this sometimes crack which would cause a boost leak - meaning that your turbo is spooling ok but the boost is leaking.

looks like the cross over pipe has a crack at the mounting

also have these that do not connect to anything, aftermarket as it has hks but seems like it should plug in somewhere

Would I be correct in my assumption that the crack may be causing the pressure loss?
