I had my car at a resprayers for 2 weeks, picked it up today and looked fantastic. drove away from the place and the car just lunged back and forward when I gave it some gas. The car was low on fuel before I took it to the place (was in a rush to get there) and was going to fill it up on the way back so I assumed it was just running out of petrol. Got a jerry can and went to a nearby petrol station, filled it up and put it into the car. Car started fine but again jumped all over the place when the turbo\'s should kick in. Filled the car up with lots of petrol just in case the jerry can wasn\'t enough (also so I could get home) and the car would not allow the turbo\'s to kick in so would only rev to around 3,000 odd rpm.
Had a similar experience on my Honda bike and it was the limp home mode so I believe this is a similar problem. Going to check fuses, disconnect battery etc later on to see if i can get the turbo\'s working again. I\'m just wondering whether the low petrol in the tank and the fact it had been sitting there may have triggered the limp mode.
any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
managed to reset the ecu and all seems to be fine now
Good to hear :cool
...there was me thinking the sprayers had wrecked your motor???
Yep Booths do odd things to ECU\'s, When we bake New Astra\'s we have to let it cool down for 30-40mins before it would start and we get on avarage 1 engine light on a week but then this is Vauxhall we\'re talking about.
I\'d swap your fuel filter out for good measure just in case. Not a nice job but worth while if its been run on fumes.
