Well it sounds like all the you tube video clips for tip failure......day of pondering what todo .....think will be spares or repair on ebay....no time to strip......was gonna sell soon.....as i was looking to get a Mazda 3 MPS to turn into a race car......

On a private test track:yes......5th gear 6500 revs pop no power my clocks only go to 110 as a mph sticker over original . It was pinned there for a while felt more like 160 to me....i nailed it 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th.....waaaaa, waaaa, waaaaa,waaaa,waaaa...duuuuh.

Balls. Get the plugs out and EGI fuse and have a listen to the puffs of the engine. Does sound like its popped a tip !

First job tomorrow morning(on nights) What with Castle Combe yesterday....if i starting "playin with my car" it wont be my tips i\'m worried about....wish i\'d gone for a bike ride with my wife instead...:rollin

right...its fubar.....pulled plugs and egi fuse cranked her over .......pssst pssst pssst pssts....mmmm is she ok, my heart skipped a beat .... got a mate to crank her and no psst from front rotor ..... I put my hand by spark plug holes and the air is only coming from rear rotor........ spark plug lots of carbon build up on that rotor trailing? ( new this year).
poor rexy at least she died doing what she does best ....going fast!

what is the reason for tip failure? Ive searched and none seem to fit why my car failed?
all serviced every thing every 2k 10KM fresh engine boost 0.78 bar , had some high temps with coolant but was monitoring? baked on carbon?
starting to annoy me know as if i repair am i gonna be able to enjoy driving it again with the feelin its gonna let go again in 2.5 year? did i blow it by going WOT in 5 gears?
From what I remember reading from an old thread you only had it mapped up to 0.5 BAR?
You were probably running lean for ages at 0.78 boost, and bit of extra heat, ignition a bit too advanced on the fuel used ,a little boost spike would be enough to det the front rotor, if you were to rebuild it have it mapped at a dyno , makes sure the afrs are in safe zone

All those boost spikes at 1.1bar in the past could have damaged or weakened seals.
lesson learnt. I\'d quite happily now go back to running around post apexi and remap at 0.5 bar at least my engine wouldn\'t sound like a frikin chinook! ......
Why dont you just get it rebuilt.
With proper tune it could run more power than before and be alot more fun!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. Listen to it mate and get on with it. Get it built by Carl and have 30,000 Miles or 30 Months warranty.
His warranty can not be matched!

Mate, look at the bright side of it. A rebuild FD is what you need in your life and Carl\'s warranty makes it a worth while all the way long.
You have a chance to own a fully sorted FD which will be covered for 30 Months or 30 Thousand Miles.
I suggest you jump down from the fence and ring Carl:King :D :)

The fence is more a 20 ft high security barb wire 1 than a primrose lined picket 1! lol once i jump off 1 side there\'s no going back. Its watch this space at mo....and if i get a good offer on the car its got to go....cost of repair equals roughly race entry for 1 year.
Well she\'s gone to an RX7 enthusiastic, the car reached the price i had in mind when head rules heart. Unsure if mine will be broken for the juicy bits for his or the other way round
.....i did not want to know.
House do up and sell takes priority and then i\'m going racing.
is it too early for a drink!
Anyway\'s NO regrets and highlight was sending them BTCC civics back to pits as they dared to come out on our rotary only session.
I will be following Clives build closely i will be defo attending as many of the southern race meets once he gets up and running.
ill have another 1 day.
