Title: Radiator cap question
Post by: JayD on September 09, 2012, 10:18:43 AM
Hi guys

After doing some work in my engine bay I found a radiator cap wedged inside the bay (no causing a problem) which was probably dropped there by the last owner.

My question is whats the reason for the caps being different and which one would be better to run and why?

One i found is on the left and the one that has been on the car is on the right..

One on left goes on filler neck at top of engine, one on right is a pressure cap for an ast tank

Indeed, the FD has 2 tanks that need caps rather than just the 1 in other cars due to the way the coolent system is setup.

You can put either type on the filler neck, the AST has to have a pressure cap though.
