Ok guys, i\'ve got a similar problem to that described by tomrex in this post:
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5553&highlight=pressure+chamber
except that instead of the pipes popping off the pressure chamber, the green thingy that one of the pipes leads to isn\'t attached to anything...
If I remove the pressure chamber I can see another pipe underneath that attaches to the end of the green thingy by means of a black piece containing what looks like a piece of orange filter material.
Whan I push them together they clip in place but the slightest movement pops them apart again...
The car seems to be driving ok, but I don\'t have a boost gauge so I don\'t know how this is affecting turbo 2.
I suppose my questions are:
1) what is the green thingy for, and what\'s it\'s real name?
2) what is the effect of the two pipes not being connected?
3) where can I get a replacement green thingy?
Cheers,
Alex
PS pics to follow :)
Its a one way filter, mine did the same I replaced it but it didn\'t solve the boost problem I was having, so I am not sure how much it effects it.
Oh I got my \'green thingy\' from RX motors.
cheers gman :)
i assumed it was some sort of valve as it has a flow arrow on it...
pics as promised, from my phone tho so could be better...
what the end is supposed to attach to:
i\'m pretty sure green thingy= inline check valve or one way air valve
after i\'d finished running in my engine, and was able to redline, i found that the 2nd turbo was pretty much non-existent.
after a few times at the redline i started to get a loud \'whooshing\' sound, and was told i had a \'boost leak\' and to look for split pipes or split connectors. it turned out that one of the valves had broken just like yours has.
i couldn\'t find anywhere local that knew what it was (let alone stock it). my local performance car mechanic said he\'d seen them on loads of cars, even on jcb\'s!!! but he still wasn\'t sure what they were called/ where to get them.
i got mine from the same place i bought the car- jimmies rx7 http://www.jimmys-rx7.co.uk/ it was still under warranty so he posted it and i received it the next day.
as far as i remember, the turbos require a vacuum to work and the broken green thingy was ruining all my fun. so the two pipes not being connected means no vacuum. i replaced it and hey-ho my baby got boost!!
:D
hope this answers your qs, good luck
here\'s the link to my post. my valve broke just after i got the filter changed, so i thought the problem was related

Cheers mate :)
Yeah, Jimmy\'s is my local so I spoke to Andrew on Friday, I\'ll pop in there and pick up a new one next week. In the mean time I used the best emergency repair material ever - superglue :D - to join the filter back together and so far it\'s been fine :)
