Firstly, many thanks to everyone then attended Rotorstock 9 yesterday. It was probably the best weather we have had in 9 years and so many rotaries all on in one place:Thumbsup!
Congratulations to the following people:-
Shaun Wilmer came 3rd in the GOTP competition, So well done Shaun for flying the Rotary flag. I think you will need to contact Santa Pod, to claim your prize.
I believe Adrian (Tiddles) won the Sprint Rotary trophy, if this is correct please PM me with your address details and we will send out your trophy.
The other winners of the day were judge by the Miss Banazi club and our overseas members.

Shaun
Wicked news. Thanks to everyone.
PM on its way Lisa.
Ade
Congratulations to Shaun and Tiddles for their wins on the track! And to all the Best in Show winners.
The north west was well represented in the driving events haha, good work guys!
what an awesome day. i broke my drag strip cherry too.
"how could you get excited about going in a streight line"
its addictive
congrats to all that won something and it seems to be a running tredition this year than many standard cars are winning the bext (1st gen, 2d gen ect) catagories not sure if its showing a trend of people appreciating standard looking cars especially the older stuff.
was nice to see Clives RX4 not win the best old scool catagore for once (something i am sure he is very happy with lol)
Thank you to everyone that made RX9 possibly the best yet and i really really do hope we see a RS10 next year.
I think this years event showed just how much support there can be for the rotary cars... was also goof to see a few other clubs make the trip to the pod too.

Red RX8 ? I think you might have been up against my missus in her black 300zx on one of your runs ?
Great News Shaun 3rd Well done mate and Great news for Ade as well.
Big thanks for to Lisa and Clive for making Rotorstock a great Rotary meet again it was great to see that we had a big turn out again and the weather was great this time.
Nice pictures en congrats to the winners!!
:Thumbs-up Well done to Shaun for coming third in the GOTP comp, told you it\'d be worth doing a run up the strip and well done to Ade for the quickest time rotary around the sprint circuit. Do we have all the scores and times from santa pod for the GOTP comp as i\'d be interested to see just how I did and i\'m sure i\'m not the only one.
Oh and well done to all the show winners and it looks as if your cars are still winning Clive even if you don\'t own them anymore :Laugh.

Told it was fun you won\'t think driving in a straight line could be as much fun as it is, how many runs did you do in the end?
nice to see Rx8s giving it a go on the strip
Yep the strip isn\'t where the 8s at it\'s best but it\'s still fun, anything in the low 15s in very good and if you can get in the 14s with out FI or major porting then that\'s a great time.
Yeah great news Shaun well done mate. good day all round.
Ade
Congratulations to Shaun and Ade, and all the other trophy winners too :wave
I reckon there\'s a niche for a stock RX8 in Bracket Drag racing. It seems straight forward to get consistent mid-15 second runs.
For sure, the skill will be in the reaction to the lights making the difference to who wins
Huge thanks to Clive, Lisa and Santa pod for what is the best Rotorstock I have attended to date.
Always enjoy seeing all of the 7s and old skool, modified and unmodified! (Are there any two FDs which are identical or even "stock"??)
Huge fun on the Sprint circuit - and thought I\'d just have one-or-two runs up the strip... Then I got caught up in Aston\'s "just one more go"... Sorry to say I still "smashed" him every time - despite only running "low" 16\'s (nowhere near as quick as the other 8\'s!)
I\'d love to see the full results for GOTP and the spring track - competition was very hot and close for the 8\'s and it was obvious some of the turbod 7s had more oomph giving them the edge on the straights :)
I would just like to add my Thanks to Clive and Lisa and all those that made for a fantastic Rotorstock this year,, weather was like summer (unusual for the UK) cars were fantastic, turnout was amazing,, great to talk to so many Rotor Heads all in one place,, all in all a great day out,, and I came away with a Trophy,, :Thumbs-up
Roll on Rotorstock 10
Frank
"just one more Run"...
the strip was addictive and this year was my first go up the hallowed 1/4 mile
you only won Sean because i was perfecting my launch lol. but seriously the R3 just had the legs over me on the 1/4 mile then again i am only in a lowly 192ps. was still fun never the less.
Roll on RS10
Congratulations guys!
Was great to see and hear the rotaries going at it.
The girlfriend said to me "I didn\'t realise there were this many RX7s in the UK..." :2Rolleyes:Giggle
Got some good inspiration from the other FC\'s on show and Ade is a legend! My sunroof now works, I have a working sunroof... it works... :p (Which is probably why I now have a sunburnt head!)
I loved doing the Sprint track, will have to give the strip a go next year but since I only got the car in Feb I\'m still getting used to it.
Thank you so much to Clive and Lisa for the organisation, and the Stewards who ushered people in, it was my first time at Pod :)
Roll on camping at RS10!
Edit: Why wasn\'t Clive taking the 8 round the sprint Track? In fact... where was the 8? :D
Thanks to Clive and Lisa for a great day out, lots of lovely rotors and a bit of sunburn, it dont get any better. Congratulations to Shaun and Ade for showing the pistons what can be done. roll on RS10
:cheers
Quote from: drtool;833503How many pre RX7 rotaries were at the event?
At one point I counted between 60 and 65 FD\'s :yes :mmmm
We from Holland and Norway also had a good time, many thanks to Lisa and Clive for this wonderful event. Was very glad the 4-rotor RX-8 could run for a while, even it wasn \'t ready yet. Arjan with his 12A turbo Luce (929 saloon) had to go up at 2:45 am!!!!, and drove to us in the south of Holland, from there we left at 5:00 am and were at Santa about 11:30 am local time. Arjan even left, the same day and, drove at home within 1 day!!! A 1986 Luce must be a comfortable car.
Marco(20B FD) picked-up our Norwegian friends at Stansted airport. We visited Norway at Gatebil to see and hear Mad Mike\'s 4-rotor drifting along the track
Next year 07-07-2013 we\'ll try to copy the first Dutch Rotarystock 2011 which Lisa and Clive also attended, with even more sorts of rotary cars, bikes, karts lawnmowers, whatever, as long it\'s wankel powered. More information will be published later.
Cheers,
Kees Hoebeke
^^ :Thumbs-up Kees, a fantastic effort and commitment on your part to make it all the way over to RS9. It was great to chat to you again - I met you first at a Brooklands event a year or 2 back. To see (and hear) the 4-rotor RX-8 running was one of the many highlights of the day.
Your enthusiam and commitment to all things rotary is amazing :god
Good luck with organising the 2013 rotary event in Holland. Keep us posted.
Have tidied the thread to keep it on topic as per the title.
The old skool/Retro rides stuff is in a new thread in this section:
