Title: insurance on a single turbo under 30
Post by: anthony on July 30, 2012, 09:38:14 AM
Hi guys,

I\'m trying to get "reasonable" insurance, i.e hopefully under a classic policy on a single turbo rx7.

I tried peter best but I need to be over 30 and I\'m 28.

Can anyone recommend any companies ?

£970, best quote so far. But it\'s just too much for a car thats only worth 4k and will only be driven a couple of hundred miles a month.
Was getting quotes around 500 from peter best as a classic, 2 years ago, but now they only insure over 30\'s ah well.

Are you able to get it on a classic policy? I got my FC on a classic policy with all the mods declared and I didn\'t need to use my NCB so I could use it on my daily driver :) I used performance direct, which were quite knowledgable.

yeah I was hoping on getting a classic policy and peter-best offered me this 2 years ago and it was around £500 for a modified, 380 for a stock. But now you need to be over 30 :(

sky: 1292
reis: 1296
performance direct - need to be 30+
peter best - 30+

shame really. given up on owning another FD, its just too expensive for a second car for a bit of fun.As i know how they cost to run, service etc on top of that and it wont even get driven in the winter. so insurance alone would work out to be 200 a month that i drive it at best :)

if anyone has another companies that are worth a go please let me know.

Try HIC they are usually pretty good. :)

HIC = Apparently they use the same insurers as a adrian flux, so the price wouldn\'t be any different

Footman james - closed.. will try tomorrow :)

got that down to 840 with adrian flux.
I\'ve since but a twin with a few mods, much cheaper. sub 500 with footman james.
