Title: FD3S seats - how supportive?
Post by: m1tch on July 21, 2012, 09:51:18 AM
Hi all,

I am getting a nice shiny mark 1 MX5 today, the FD3S seats apparently bolt right in, as do some Lotus seats, I am just wondering how good the OEM FD3S seats are with regards to its \'bucketyness\' if that makes sense :rollin

I see that they already have harness holes which is a plus as the car will be running a roll hoop and harness bar.

Just wondering if I should get a set of FD seats or go with an aftermarket bucket, as I have only owned an FC I don\'t know what FD seats are like lol

Which fd seats are you going for? I had the leather ones in my car, very comfy and I didn\'t move at all. Better off with aftermarket seat. They are much better, and newer.

Just the standard seats:

I am just going for a low cost alternative although the Lotus seats look goooood :)

Keith is right the don\'t bolt straight in neither do the Lotus Elise seats, you will need to make/modify rails to fit these seats.
