Title: Bouncing idle Cause?
Post by: Mikey22 on July 18, 2012, 08:51:54 AM
Hey Guys,

I managed to fix my hunting idle, secured all vacuum lines and set up so when it first turns on it idles at around 1200 for a few minutes then drops to around the 800-850 mark.

However i\'ve notice that when i turn the lights on the idle just goes! jumps from 850 to about 14-1500 then back down and repeats that over and over.

Does this sound like just a bad earth?

Cheers

Mike

Sounds like the car is hunting, it might be that the TPS needs adjusting.

Its strange as i chacked that the TPS was in the range of 0.70, well actually its set at 0.71 but i didnt think 0.01 out would cause such a problem.

Ill try adjusting again tonight.

How did you adjust it? AFAIK you use those little LEDs to get the range correct.

I matched up the readings on the apexi commander. Just by turning the tps till the reading for vta1 was at 0.70ish

Not sure about any LEDs etc.

Mazda did sell an LED thing that you can use, I think Prof just made his own lol but here is a good write up on how to adjust:

Try turning the electrical load idle up by 50rpm using the commander.
