My 92 fd has a KAD front big brake kit, ABS deleted and hydraulic handbrake. I want to know if anyone has ever made the standard front calipers fit onto the rear and how I might go about doing this conversion? Cheers. Jack.
Yes this has been done on FD\'s before but obviously you will need to fabricate brackets to take the calipers and the small spot hand brake caliper you will need to pass an MOT.
On top of this you will need a bias adjustable brake pedal box that gives you two master cylinders, one for the front and one for the back.
This is so you can adjust the brakes to give the correct amount of braking percentage from front to rear because with this conversion you will have too much braking on the back until you can adjust
This company will be able to help with the hand brake caliper and pedal box
hope this helps

Thanks Clive that is really helpful. Seems like a lot of work! I was hoping to be able to just put a brake bias valve under the bonnet somewhere. Is that possible or would I have to do the pedal box/twin master cyl thing?
Bias Pedal box is the real real way to do it but I have used adjustable valves in the past and it will work but to get the balance, but you need it plumbed in with an adjustable knob within reach of the driver
You\'re a legend Clive! Are you aware of anyone that may have some brackets or some templates for them?
Brackets I can\'t help with, sorry :(
I was told not to actually bother because they are too strong to balance up with uprated fronts. The larger later spec brakes are a better option but they are like hen\'s teeth.
I run much larger fronts but I still feel my balance is all wrong (looking at it in detail next week). I have got through a set of rear pads in 2 track days :Giggle Fronts last forever and a day ! Although the fronts are 356mm !

I\'m running a full bias bar setup with no vacuum assist, but I think the rears are coming on too quickly to the fronts. I\'m in need of some pressure gauges to sort it out.

I think my fronts are 356mm too. I\'ve currently got standard rears with red stuff pads, which feel a bit weak to me and as my car is primarily for drifting I really wanted to get more \'bite\' on the rear brakes so I don\'t have to yank the hydro so hard. As I saved the standard fronts I thought this might be a good option but it\'s starting to seem more trouble than it\'s worth?
I\'m also trying to create some serious front negative camber but I guess that\'s another thread...
They would be spot on for drifting and a hydro. I was told not to use them for track stuff because they where a bit too aggressive but that\'s another kind of running.
Getting the brackets made is the hardest part of the job, plus you would need bells and rotors to get the disc in the right place.
