Title: Bushes
Post by: tsh on July 13, 2004, 09:18:24 AM
If I\'m going to keep my Turbo II, I think it\'s time I did something about it\'s tendancy to wander about on a bumpy road... I assume it\'s just the suspension bushes being a bit tired (148k miles). I think it\'s more than the alignment being not quite perfect, cause I get interesting effects like throttle steering (not much, but noticable!)

How much work is it to replace the bushes? Is it something my local garage is likely to be happy doing?
Do I get mazda parts, or can I get something else better/cheaper?
Is there anything I should replace first because it will magically solve everything?
Should I just give up and buy an Rx8?

I\'ve looked into this \'cos I\'ve got the same probs on my EGi.

A full set of mazda bushes costs the earth! (Some of the bushes are over £90! And to get all of them comes to over £800 if memory serves)

Pip can get hold of polyeuothane bushes for around £350-400 (I think that price is right)

A combination of worn bushes and baggy springs/dampers is what gives you that slightly worrying feeling under hard acceleration!
