Title: Coolant sensor
Post by: Mikey22 on July 08, 2012, 01:14:24 PM
Is there anyway of turning off the coolant buzzer?

Mines doing my head in, It keeps going off even though ive checked and double checked the coolant is full!

So i think my sensor is knackered! Not sure whats wrong with it.

Any suggestions?

Have you also checked your oil level or check that the oil level sensor hasn\'t come unplugged?

I\'ve not checked the oil level sensor has come unplugged but i have checked the oil. Recently been changed and plenty of good clean oil in her.

Normally the buzzer goes on and off to remind you to pull over and top up. However now it just stays on all the time.

Its very annoying

Hmm maybe there could be an air lock in the coolent system in the block - there was on mine, seems odd that its on all the time though, does it change at all if you are going up or down a hill?

No doesnt change at all. Only stops when you put it in reverse.

Could it be a fried sensor?

Where is the oil sensor plug? just to check its in ok.

I\'ve tried massaging the pipe to get any air out etc but still its on.

Had it on a 15 mile round trip and other than the buzzer the car worked fine. Steady 85-90 degrees and no problems at all.

The power steering pump. Does that supply power to the power steering only or is that like an oil pump as well?
