Think there are a few where you can access the websites and check out whats on offer before bidding, but its at a price if your successful.  The companies take a cut.

Yeah i think you can mate, but personally i think for the premium importers charge, to have things like shipping/tax/sva etc etc carried out it is well worth it, not to mention the most important part - they test drive the daylights out of their cars, whereas you\'d be pretty much relying on the auction sheets otherwise. Unless you know someone out there with access to auctions?

Anyway, have a look here for Liverpool Port Auctions, think they\'re a popular one, although i also think they\'re trade only!

Excellent! Good luck with that then, buddy! But when they say \'trade only\', do they not mean in the car business, i.e. customers who will be buying several vehicles?

Or are you planning to set up your own business selling them on? :p VW is a start, if he shifts the focus onto Jap cars you should be more than eligible to set up a trade account and get bidding. Still leaves the risk factor though.

Either way, all the best!

Hi mate,

Dont know if these help at all but its a few importing websites that I found.

//www.a1carauctions.co.uk : these cars are shipped to Southampton and then sold on auction (already shipped so no additional costs)

//www.auto.co.jp : this site shows auctions in Japan.  Once you have bought one you have to sort out shipping yourself. (too much hassel, but very cheap cars)

//www.liverpoolportauctions.com : like the southampton one, cars that are shipped over then sold at auction in Liverpool

//www.rushcorp.com : another auction site.

Hope this helps bud.
