Title: water coolant hose sucked in!! help!!
Post by: rust on June 02, 2012, 08:33:43 PM
hello owners!

i have put tax back on the FD this month and it started up fine everytime..
BUT i have jump in to a problem... after turning off the FD and waiting for around 10-15 mins with the bonnet up, you can hear some water sound from the over flow tank pulling in water.. but i have found that my top and lower coolant hose has sucked it self in and when i open up the non filler cap it will pop back out...

do i have a sign of water seal problem?

OR

1. do i have some kinda split pipe ?? ( i have replaced my old radiator hose with samco hose.

2. could it be the filler neck cap and the AST cap need changing ?

3. blocked radiator or nackered?

4. over tank pipe has split or bottle is nackered?

5. some help please... :(

im from milton keynes and if anyone nearby is around and dont mind helping me i would thank you so much!

Sounds like a blocked vent pipe, the 10mm one that goes onto the base  of the radiator, not saying it definatly is but this is where I would start, also have a look at the AST piping .

Cheers Clive, will check that out... I think it\'s a blocked pipe somewhere too, when I open the filler neck cap the hose all pop back out... But I guess I got alas of air in the system now :(
