Title: Broken Oil Metering Pump Feed Line
Post by: Wav on July 09, 2004, 09:08:25 PM
HI Guys,

I really really need some advice on this.... The hard plastic feed line from the OMP to the front rotor has cracked and snapped right at the top. This pipe is very brittle and I\'ve tried to heat it up and press it over the end of the feed nozzle, but to no avail, it ends up melting before being flexy enough:(

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get it on or what i can replace this pipe with (i.e. a shop/ company / size /diamter/ make).

This is now stopping me from putting the wiring loom on and putting the engine back in the car. I really want to get it up and running this weekend.

If anyone can help with this please post away

CHeers, Paul:)

The part number is N3A1-14-660C

No price in the catalogue, which is a bad sign, means it isn\'t ordered very often.

I would ring Tim at RX Motors, or Ross at Dragon for a secondhand bit.

Cheers,

Richard

these bl**dy things break everytime,  you can repair it with small good quality rubber hose and super glue.  Mine broke and i think thats why my front rotor failed.  If you get second hand ones, they break again. You may have a pipe place near like Pirtek, they can make you a set of braided hoses. I seem to remember that tim wants about 30 quid each for new ones.

Cheers for the replys guys. Yeah I also have the MPC richard, and yeah it is definitely a bad sign when they don\'t have a price:(

Tony: Yeah pirtek is just down the road from me (ish) not sure if they are open tomorrow but a braided line could be cheeky. Don\'t think I want to risk repairing it to be honest as it is such a critical part, as you may of found out:(

I\'ve also found out that one of the exhaust manifold stud nuts was wrecked (god knows how) and has taken a stud with it striping the thread :( so i think i\'ll have to order one of them anyway now  Getting it done this weekend isn\'t looking too promising now:mad:

Thanks again, Paul

I purchased new metering nozzles and plastic lines from Andrew at Jimmy\'s. He ordered them from a Mazda dealer in the UK. There are not that costly (around 35 pounds? cant remenber off hand) and took less then a week to arrive, give him a call. I would change both while your at it.

Here is a link to my problem I had last year.

Halfway down the page shows some photos of the parts. Your lucky that your motor is out, might be alot easier to change.

Thanks Oliver, that is a good thread. Not sure why it didn\'t show up when i did a search using "omp"

Have just ordered new manifold nuts and studs from mazda, they couldn\'t help with the omp line though. Think I\'ll just order a new one from either Jimmy\'s or Tim at RX motors as weve already had lots of stuff from him:)
