Hi guys
Been doing some reading and online research about lightweight billet rotors I believe they are. Just wanted views on them, has anyone ran them? Was reading this upgrade could potentially increase rev limit to 13-15k rpm?
Any input, opinions, experiences welcome :)
Light weight rotors do allow the engine to spin up higher, you can lighten the OEM rotors, next upgrade is billet rotors and then the high end there is what Carl is working on at the moment, it all depends on what you want the engine for, the turbo IIs power peaks at around 6,800rpm, if you want to run a bit more power then port it a bit more, if you are running NA then it might be an option, they rev pretty high already and can do so consistantly if you underdrive the water pump etc to stop cavitation.
The standard rotors can be ran to 10-11,000 rpm with clearencing. The drag boys regularly run to these rpms. Haywards 10second FD hit 11,000. Carl is working on some bullet titanium rotors. East coast billet rotors have Aparently revved to 15,000 rpm, so I would expect any of the billets that are available will be for 13-15,000 rpm race only engines.
The price would be around £1500 each as that\'s what the east coast billet ally ones are I think.
Thanks guys, just having a look at the East coast products, it\'s good to see people still investing time and money in enhancing the rotary experience. One day I would love to have this put in on a rebuild and the apex seals that are supposedly unbreakable :).
If you look after the engine they shouldn\'t break lol
