Title: Oil coolers
Post by: Grant Monkhouse on May 03, 2012, 05:39:05 AM
Can an oil cooler be too big? As I am basically running an FD engine in my rx4 I need to know what size oil cooler will suffice. How many rows will be the right size?

I will be running a fan on the front blowing air through it so could I perhaps run a smaller cooler due to running a fan?

Would go too big as it would overcool..

You can always tape over the rad if its larger. If its too small you can\'t do anything to stop it over heating. Can depend what the car is used for too.

It won\'t be for going around a track that\'s for sure as its going to be too noisy to start with. I\'m going to be using for drags and the occasional blast around Huddersfield. I will be mounting it in front of the radiator too, soo it will have more airflow than necessary with a fan attached too.

What size are the standard fd oil coolers?
