Hi guys,
Currently in the process of removing the coilovers from my FC and replacing them with the standard items. I\'ve been working on the fronts, the coilovers have been removed no problem at all...but then the problems arise when trying to replace them with the standard items; they\'re HUGE! Despite using the henchest spring compressors I can find and compressing them as much as possible there just seems to be no way I can get the top mount all the way into the turret without the bottom section getting stuck on, well, everything.
The best way I can see round this is to disconnect the anti-roll bar drop link so the lower arm can swing down, fit the shock top mount and then get the bottom end bolted up...or is there a better way?
I\'ve done this on a number of cars in the past and I know it\'s never a walk in the park but this is definitely the hardest!
I dunno mate but when I fitted my coilovers I had to compress the standard springs a fair bit to help get them off. Like you say though getting them off is a lot easier.
i think undoing the arb is going o be the way to go, should give you a fair bit more space
Thanks gives, I\'m going to give it a bash at the weekend. Looks like the only way I\'m going to be able to shift the car is with standard wheels and shocks :(
