Title: Compression test results
Post by: adamfitz on April 29, 2012, 10:08:21 PM
Went to look at an FD yesterday, took it for a test drive etc, went through the guys paper work that shows the rebuild done at 63000 km-car is now on 76000 km, by hayward rotary

however, today i met up with Jit and he did a compression test on it for me.
the readings were:

Front: 6.1 5.9 5.6
Rear: 7.6 7.3 7.0

all 3 of us were stumped as to what it could be causing the problems, as a fairly new engine and the compression is so low....
has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? is it rebuild time again? or is it a fault that needs the engine taken apart to diagnose?

Give it a good blast n retest,  blow the carbon out and see what you get.

spoken to carl about it today. he gave me a brief bit of history on the car and he had seen the thread as well. he was unsure as to what the cause could be. the guy who owns the car is going to take it back to him at the weekend and see if carl can shed any light on the situation. its not under warranty anymore as the work was done in 2008
