My plans changed and i want to go single
with a HKS t51 R SPL or a Garrett GT4202Rs
i know these both turbos are awesome
and friend of mine drives the GT4202Rs and gains just a little bit more Hp then with the t51r spl
i also know there are whole kits with the HKS one
is it possible to get a whole singe turbo kit for the Garrett turbo with all parts i need?
if not what exactly do i need for the turbo to drive
I recently bought gt42 journal bearing. Apparntly they flow awesomely! I would say get the manifold made up to your needs. Buy a 60mm wastgate and you are good to go. I got my manifold made up and it is a piece of art.
Let me know If you want one made up for you.
P.S custom jobs are always dear but then you get the piece of mind that it\'s new and unused.
Mir
Edit: you would need the following things
Manifold
Down pipe
Gaskets
Return lines
Air Filter :D
and a good Engine to follow these turbos well
Thank you very much
What are your total Costs for your kit
with your parts and your manifold
Have you considered a borgwarner EFR turbo? I take it your going to be getting a new turbo? So with cost of the R series of garretts maybe a little extra for one of the EFRs might be worth paying for?
first i considered going on HKS T51 R Spl
i read on the web that it is the shame to pay HKS for these expensive turbos when i can get an other one with the same specs
but i am new with this single turbo setups and i don\'t know which parts to buy that i nearly have the same kit as by the HKS one
Gt4202 is £1,700 brand new, just checked Owens turbos site. For a one off custom built 2rotor turbo manifold to suit the turbo is anything from 500-900 quid. 60mm tial wastegate £300, downpipe second hand £150
I will just try find price on an EFR turbo for you fOr comparison.
How much was the t51 kit?
I can get a t51r spl Single Turbo Kit Used
But as new for 3000 inkl parts I need
Direct bolt in with fittings and lines
The question you need to ask yourself is if you want the same as your mate....or do you want something that will perform better?......what are your goals?

I think I was the lucky one bcz I bought a rebuilt Gt42 turbo for a Very Cheap price.
The 3 rotor single turbo Equal runner manifold was bought for 2000dollars plus as I went for three EGT bungs and extra polishing.
I bought 60mm brand new wastegate for 500 pounds from ED rx7.
I have not paid for lines and down pipe yet as it is with Pip and I will let you know.
The cost is not that much but apparently GT42 are famously used on Rotaries. Borg warners are good turbos too.

I want something that perform better for sure
What can you advise ed
Engine is well prepared with rebuild, cooling parts, fuel setup
Is in process in summer period and clutch in winter
So let me know your thoughts
Ok...what are your goals and what engine porting?
Engine isn\'t ported
So it is oem from the inside
Goal should be between 400-600 hp
You need porting for a turbo that size.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...but your wasting your time with those turbos on a stock ported car. Your current engine will just strangle those turbos rendering them inefficient. A medium sized turbo would be better suited. With the right sized turbo I think you could reach 450 at the fly......with decent spool and power band.
I would agree with Ed, get a slightly smaller turbo, run a little more boost and your car will be faster than with the big turbo as your power will be better throughout the whole rev band and will have more torque as well.
He sells some trick turbos
Yeah agree with that
I still want to drive my car without damaging anything
Which turbo would you guys advise
All depends on how deep your pockets are dude......
I would say no more than a 66mm comp size with either a billet wheel or ball bearing............or maybe both. I could always get something custom made for ya.
Yes i think The Money isn\'t that Problem
These are just Plans and I just collecting
Informations as much as I can what would be best to gain that
450 - 500 hp with a smaller turbo
The kit can also be used when it is in great shape
I think at the 5000 euro would be my budget
and I think there is the possibility to get
Something good to gain my target

ok as i said, i would suggest the above....what do you think....and route do you want to take?
i think you have more than enough in your budget for a kit so your ok in that respect!!!
Yes sounds good
I thought I can go with a greddy one
But as you told me your solution that would
Be also an idea
Do you have some pics of the kit installed or
Some more details about the turbo
PM sent from ED_rx7parts
cheers
if your not porting id go gt 35r or 35/40 so it will be quick through the range like jaydee says, youll find a t51 or similar will be too big for your engine and youlll have no power untill it all comes at once then peaks

Yes of course guys
In the future and near past I will get a fully
Fuel setup with pump, injectors, rail and regulator
Also a clutch setup

Unless you plan on driving on drag radials/slicks with an upgraded tranny/diff/halfshafts etc there is no reason to go much bigger than above turbo for street use. @ 25psi you will need 335 tires to hook up.
