Hi lads, just a gauging interest thread that will hopefully turn into a group buy if there is enough interest.
I\'ve recently been looking into purchasing a datalogit to learn more about mapping. I\'ve owned the car for 7 years now and i think it would be hugely beneficial to know exactly what\'s going on when you map a car for performance and to diagnose engine problems that will arise from time to time.
Now there has been a new addition to the market in the last 2 or so years called FC-Hako from australia. I\'ve read some good comments about this about it doing the job that the datalogit does but at the fraction of the price. It\'s been mentioned on the rx7club.com private pfc tuning yahoo groups and on the main forum, but because it\'s so young to the market, there isn\'t tons of information out there at the moment. The main thing i\'m looking for in an interface is...
1. Not be a rip off.
2. Work with FC-edit (the same software that the datalogit uses)
3. Have connections to connect a wideband sensor or any other instrument you would use when tuning.
4. Have decent after sales support
For comparisons sake, The price for a single datalogit is £203 plus any uk taxes. The price for a single FC-Hako is £128 plus any uk taxes but if you buy 2 the price drops to £107 each. That\'s almost a £100 saving over the datalogit if 2 are bought at the same time. Don\'t forget that these prices don\'t include any uk taxes.
I\'ve contacted the guys at FC-Hako enquiring about a group buy for 10, 15 and 20 units respectively although i don\'t think this group buy will even exceed 10 units but you never know. Once they get back to me with the discounted prices, i will post here.
