Further to my post about theiving gits (in gen chit chat section) I\'m now worrying. The bonnet was ajar when the motor was down the docks. There is no strut brace. Do all FD3Ss have them? I know previous ones I\'ve had/seen have but this Type R2 doesn\'t.....
Cheers
Pete
in a word no mine doesn\'t i know the vast majority do & not sure if it says on Brians essay which dont but FYI mine is a \'86 bathurst type R which as i recall is stripped out which obviously in many cases involves removing the brace(s) as well.
Anyone wood think they heard i had a growing beer belly which needed compensating for :reallymad lol
Si

oops typo ( ! no s0 unlick moi! ;)) \'96 :p & i shud add that most these models still had braces not sure about the R2 thou....so given yer CD player has been nicked from the other thread it may of been taken can the exporter tell you if it had one?
Si
My type R2 doesn\'t have one either m8, so don\'t think they are meant to have one.
Regards,
Paul:)
That\'s a relief then. I did check the strut mountings and it didn\'t look like the nuts had been removed and replaced. I might just say it had one anyway so that can be pinned on the nickers as well!
My R2 never had one when I bought it. Personally I reakon they are removed before the sale of the car as its an extra £70ish to the seller and the buyer of the car is not going to not buy a car just because the brace is not there.
Just my 2p.
Nah, I\'m now thinking R2s just don\'t have them. Maybe they don\'t need them in the same way as the other models that are overly heavy due to the rear seat :D
in this month of japanies performance there is a pic of a 99 spec engin bay that aint got one
Tis strange they add/remove them.
When I had my Scoot bonnet put on it wouldn\'t close due to the strut bar being in the way - doh! So maybe the car had a Scoot bonnet at some point... I had to take a chunk out of the bonnet in order to have shut proper!
