Title: Elford coolant temp
Post by: kenwhiteside on April 20, 2012, 03:04:32 PM
Hello,

I reckon that the elford is running about 70°C when warmed up fully. This puts the temp gauge sitting about 1/4 up (temp measured with thermocouple).

Looking at the information on this site 70°C is in the low region but about where mazda run race engines or where people often run to keep thing cool. My question is what temps are people running on there elfords? Do they have a low temp stat fitted or is mine just old and leaking?

Thanks,

Tim

Don\'t know about Elfords but the general principle of a pressurised system is to enable you
to go over 100C without boiling.

70C seems way too low to me.
