Title: Synthetic in a Rotary and Subaru !!!!!!!
Post by: clive on March 08, 2012, 09:01:42 AM
I had a guy on the phone  at the start of the week thinking his RX-8 was dead due to the amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust.

The car and been to a Mazda dealer compression tested etc and all was o/k and they did not know what was wrong other than it probably needed a new engine :o,

After a conversation with him it turned out that last week he decided to "treat his cars" and put  Comma longlife 5w30 fully synthetic in his Subaru and his RX-8!

Once he told me this I told him to just get a couple of oil changes carried out with a cheap 10-30 or 10-40 mineral oil to try and flush the system,

Result, he rung back yesterday to tell me he now has a smoke free RX-8 and is over the moon that his car is OK :King:Thumbsup!

ohhh and when you check the oil......its looks like mayo on the dipstick of older cars......it\'s just condensation no head gasket as there isn\'t 1! so nothing to worry about.
