Title: Dump Valve oil congestion
Post by: eyedee on July 05, 2004, 03:47:28 PM
I recently bought a new dump valve to replace what I thought was a broken b.o.v.  There was oil being blown out the exit funnel and I assumed it was from a broken seal in the dump valve itself.  But since fitting the new b.o.v. I\'ve noticed there are traces of oil in the 20mm entry pipe!  Maybe this is just a little of the oil left over from the last dump valve breaking, or is it that oil is slowly coming down the 20mm air pipe?!?  If this is the case, is it bad?  :(
cheers

There was a similar post a few days ago about oil in the intake pipework. I have been led to believe that it is common for oil vapour to condense in the \'y\' pipe on top of the turbos and then come out of various pipes. Mine has all the same symtoms. I believe there may be a group buy for an oil catch tank which may overcome this problem. Under boost the oil tends to get sucked through and burnt any way. I dont think it is anything to worry about!

One way to help with this is to fit an oil catch can.
